What to Expect

ADORC Counseling provides Substance Use Disorder Treatment though our Intensive and Standard Outpatient Treatment Programs which feature a level of focused care that falls between inpatient and traditional outpatient treatment. Our outpatient sites are conveniently located in Pemberton & Woodbury, NJ.

What staff is involved in care?

At Another Door Opens, every patient begins their treatment by meeting with a board-certified psychiatrist for a thorough assessment of their symptoms, strengths, and needs. Throughout treatment, you will have regular check-ins with this psychiatrist. Our outpatient program is supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team, including Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Professional and Associate Counselors, Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselors, and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors.

How often do patients receive treatment, and for how long?

Treatment duration is tailored to each individual’s needs, so there isn’t a standard length of treatment. However, as a general guide, both our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Outpatient Program (OP) typically last 16 weeks.

What is a typical day like in the Intensive Outpatient Program?

Our programs are specifically designed to address the unique needs of each individual, considering their development, diagnosis, and gender-related factors. Every outpatient program includes:

Each week typically includes three group therapy sessions.

What is evidence-based treatment?

All of our treatments are evidence-based, meaning they are supported by research from top medical institutions and government studies. We consistently review and incorporate the latest findings to ensure that our approaches are both effective and up-to-date. We monitor treatment outcomes to identify the best therapies for each patient, helping reduce symptoms and promote lasting recovery. Evidence-based treatments are shown to improve engagement and success in the recovery process.

How many patients are in group therapy?

Group therapy sessions are kept small, with no more than 12 participants in each group to ensure a supportive and engaging environment.

Why is family therapy important?

Addiction and mental health issues affect not only the individual but the entire family. When family members gain an understanding of the challenges their loved one is facing, they can play a crucial role in supporting the recovery process. Another Door Opens values the involvement of family and offers family therapy and education as part of treatment. Our family education program provides the knowledge and skills needed to cope with difficult situations and support the patient’s recovery. We also refer families to local resources for additional support.
